Office For Mac 2016 Disable Onedrive

In the menu of your Office 2016 application, go to Excel (or Word) Sign out (just below Settings) to log out from OneDrive. Now OneDrive should be gone as a storage option until you log on back to your Microsoft account again using the Add place option.

Hi guys,

So we're basically replacing our normal Office installs with o365 and at this point don't want any of our users to be able to store anything off-premises. This may change in future but for now we need it blocked.

So, using various registry changes and GPO ADMX settings I've managed to disable OneDrive and set the save location to be the local machine etc but the one thing I'm struggling with is how to disable the connected services portion of the account settings. Every user is presented with the 'My Sites' Sharepoint site which is blocked on their o365 account. A recipe for plenty of helpdesk calls. So I need to remove that option and the functionality on the account page to add more.

I can set HKCU:/Software/Microsoft/Office/16.0/Common/Internet/UseOnlineContent to 0 but this also prevents the user signing in using their o365 credentials which in turn doesn't allow Office to activate.

Wsus install updates on computers connected. WSUS, which is is both free and easy to install and use, and can be run on a small virtual machine at minimal cost.

Does anyone have a way of disabling the online / connected services functionality while still allowing the user to log into their *.onmicrosoft.com o365 account?

Unlink onedrive

Cheers!
