I tried various things with searhpath, but can't figure out if this a
windows 7 problem, an R problem, an R-studio problem, an R4 vs R3
problem, an rJava problem, a firewall problem, or some clever
combination of such problems. Any tips greatly appreciated even if all
they tell me is in which direction to look (e.g. give Windows a
different searchpath?)

Invalid honestechTV - Could not initialize the capture device
Hi,
I can't find any solution at 'Invalid honestechTV - Could not initialize the capture device' link
I have a Enter E-210 PCI TV Capture card.
The cost of software is $70, however I got the card at equivalent of US$ 15 with software cd.
I was told to buy new card with software when contacted the manufacturer
But I am interested in working out the solution for existing system
Thanks i advance

I've not seen that card before. Strange that the manufacture will not allow you to get the current software for your card. It sounds like the card and drivers may be incompatible with your OS and the manufacturer is only selling new product to address the issue.
I hate to say it, but I suspect you're out of luck, and is likely the reason the card was only $15.

The card & software was working fine. So, I think there is no reason of incompatibility with existing OS.
